We have two area code 410,443. Is it possible for the meridian CDR to show the area code from the dialed extension? It only shows the 7 digits extensions currently.

When you dial the number, do you dial the area code or do you just dial the 7 digits.

Post a print out of your RDB's

I'm a liitle confused - are you looking for CDR info - billing report and you want to show the number dialed
or
are you looking for CLID info - your number to show on the persons phone you dialed

give us an example of how it looks and what you would like to see

Check your RDB's to see if under the CDR area

OPD YES Outpulsed Digits in CDR

Basically, I wanted to see if the raw data was sending the right area code. But, since the raw data only shows the 7 digit extension, I can't tell.

When you say 7 digit do you mean the telephone number that the person called or do you mean you are using 7 digit ext numbers on your phones?

If you are dialing 9NPA-NXX-XXXX but only NXX-xxxx is showing up in the CDR, than add this to you RDB's than it should show NPA-NXX-xxxx

Yes, we have 7 digit extensions. The raw data does show the called number (all digits), but the calling number(our extensions) only show the 7 digit extensions, it does not include the area code.

Extensions don't have NPA's.

Are we talking the same telephone language here?

to call phone to phone on the same PBX you dial 7 digit ext number?

Just trying to clairify

raw data should show something like this

N 320 00 DN1234567 T01002 03/04 10:15 00:01:35 14254893350

N = Record Type
320 = Record number
00 = Customer Number
DN1234567 = 7 digit ext that placed call
T01002 = route 1 member 2 that call went out on
03/04 = Date
10:15 = Time
00:01:35 = duration of call
14254893350 = digit dialed 1-npa-nxx-ext

What part of this record are you not getting or is different that you need help with?

========================================================

Why do you need the area code? you shold know where your calling from.

"DN1234567" This is the extension that placed the call. I wanted to see what area code that dn would pass. Something like 4101234567. Here the reason: We have a third party for billing, and sometimes they see no area code associated with the originating call. It shows on the billing reports as 0001234567 (no area code). So I was tryimg to see if I could see exactly what area code the pbx was sending out.
