We would like the CDR activated on our Meridian 1- succession 3... but i know we are using the port, i think for package C reporting. Is there a way we can dump the reports onto a computer used for maintenance with procomm on it? if yes, what are the steps we should be taking?
Regards,

you need to have a port configured with the user cty like this :

ADAN TTY 2
CTYP QSDI
GRP 0
DNUM 2
DES CDR
FLOW NO
USER CTY
XSM NO

you can configure this using the
LD 17
req chg
type adan
adan chg tty x
user cty (if you have another user please delete it with x, ej. if you have sch use xsch to delete it).

The next step is turn on the caller id on the cdr

LD 17
req chg
type parm
cdr yes

The next step is turn on the cdr on the routes :

REQ CHG Change existing data block
TYPE RDB Type of data block= RDB (Route Data BlockCUST
CUST xx Customer number associated with this route
ROUT 0-511 Route Number
...
CDR (NO) YES Call Detail Recording
- INC (NO) YES Incoming All Calls
- OAL (NO) YES Outgoing All
- - OTL (NO) YES Outgoing Toll

At this time, when you make a call using this routes you receive an ticket in the tty port. You can use a ordinary pc to capture and store the data.

I hope this help you... Bye... RP

any tty with cty as user will work, the above example is perfect, the speed would be set by switch setting on the paddle baord, with flow= no the switch will send data with out looking for rtr leads from the com port, meaning you can lose data on a pc reboot, usually not a problem, if you do use flow control the calls will be buffered up to (50K?), that may be larger with that rls.. any port can be used, my pc has 3 com ports 1 for cdr.. leaving one for the switch and one for mail, the mail port had an a-b switch for an analog modem...theirs always a better way
