Hello folks,
Regarding CDR-1400A NEC CD-ROM jumper
Please tell me about the setting for 6-pin jumper block marked 1,2,3 and the single/factory jumper setting so I can use it. Intend to use it as a slave to the master hard disk drive Conner CFS210A in sharing an IDE connector. The computer is the 486DX2 with only one IDE connector. Thanks.

I noticed that this post has been up for a while and no one has attempted to answer it so I will have a calculated guess!
Based on normal CDROM pin configeration there are the two sets of six pins you mention.
Mode select 1: This is the six pins that alter your drive between CSEL/SLAVE or MASTER. Usual position for SLAVE is the jumper bridging the middle/centre pins, top & bottem.
Mode select 2: Six pins usually always on the far left rear of the drive. Default factory set to bridge the right pair of pins top and bottem.
Hope this has helped. Martin Vote if you found this post helpful please!!
