I've written a simple form that that uses the CDO to send a confirmation e-mail. Could someone explain why I am able to send these e-mails to any address except those within my company?

Thanks!

first of all u want to know about the CDO.
why we use cdo?
CDO can be used to create a web site that does not require the user to download any components and can allow a user to access like mailbox from any web capable system(NT/win2k).
hotmail is an example of the web mail box interface.

The posibilites are endless.
It is for both internet and intranet mailing system. In hotmail, yahoo like servers are webservers with a websites. they are w3 so u put the mail id as urid@hotmail.com or urid@urserver.net/edu or like any w3 domail servers.

U can also send the mails within ur company.what u want is web capable system like NT/Win2k with cdonts object which is supporting for the mail system.
In this u need to create a users in the servers. That username is comming in ur network neighborhood.u put the form in ur server. and send the mail to ur company users by

simply put the mail id as username@ursevername
thats all no .com,.edu any thing.but these are possible within ur company only bcus ur accessing ur company server with is not a domain server for worldwide.

i think this is enough for.
if u want more info read Professeion asp by wrox publication
they give an example intranet program also

withregards
raghu
