CDONTS changing my image link

I'm trying to send a graphic email using a CDONTS object. When it goes out, it's removing the period (.) from my image name, causing the link to break. (

http://www.belmontinc.com/eBlastFiles/BelmonsterBash/images/eblast.gif

is being changed to

http://www.belmontinc.com/eBlastFiles/BelmonsterBash/images/eblastgif).

Does anyone have an idea why this might be happening?
