I'm interested in using CDONTS to attach files for email. But I don't want the user to attach any size file. Unfortunately, I haven't found any information that would help me determine the maximum size. I could arbitrarily set it, but would rather use a scientific approach. Are you aware of any documentation that would help me make this decision? Is it best practice to use the restricture currently employed by the mail server? Images have optimal pixel settings for the web, are there similar optimal settings for CDONTS email attachments?

Thanks in advance.

hi feemi,

haven't gotten that technical with cdonts...but i've experienced no problems sending files ~3MB. perhaps follow hotmail's lead and limit to 1024kb. really just depends on the performance of your server - you should test various file sizes for speed.
