CDE screen lock with password protect

We have a 7.3 Alpha running the CDE gui. What I need is a screensaver/screenlock that prompts for a user/password to restore the desktop. Here's the catch:
I wish this screenlock to use some other database than UAF for valid users/passwords. I have a bunch of users on this Alpha that do not have VMS login accounts, and I wish to track usage by person based on this screenlock mechanism.
I've looked at XAUTOLOCK, but don't have a VMS C compiler should I make mods to it. Any tips/advice welcome.
