I jumpstarted new sun machine with sol9, there is only one account root on the machine. when I login to cde it worked fine for couple days but now it give error "DT messaging system could not be started.

Check your /etc/inetd.conf for the rpc.ttdbserverd line and check your . files (.TTauthority, .Xauthority, etc...) in your home directory.
