CDE Failing after DefaultRoute

I have installed hp-ux 11i, when I did i configured it for stand alone and CDE worked fine.

I configured the network interface with an IP and a SNM and the DNS through SAM. Rebooted the server and was able to login to CDE.

I went to the netconf file in the /etc/rc.config.d directory and entered in the information for my default gateway. When I attempt to login to CDE it says that there is a configuration error.
I then login via 'FAILSAFE' and I am able to ping my inside network and outside network via IP and DNS.

I remove the default route info and reboot then I can login to CDE but can (obviously) only ping my inside network.

What am I missing????

I forgot to check my nsswitch.conf file.

Any other Ideas
