When choosing print (to plot on graphtec plotter) and selecting "properties" where I choose "roll or cut paper" then choose paper size(I use "free size") then enter my roll size then OK. Next I set "print style" to "graphtec selection" and click "Apply". As long as I plot out of the same open file it remembers my settings. If I open a different file, or close program & re-open Coreldraw 12 I loose my settings. How can I save them as defaults?.

Can you add another print style with your customised settings and save it another name? Saving print styles is in the print dialogue box

You could try changing your printers preferences by right clicking it from your printer list: Start/Settings/Control Panel/Printers (for W2k anyway).
Settings you change here should be the default whenever you print to that printer.

Hope that helped.
