CD-WRITER instalation

I want to reduce the cost of my backups from tape's to CD, but has some one installed a CD-Writer (anykind) in SCO???

I have SCO Openserver 5.0.5.

Any help will we appreciated.

There is CD burner software on the skunkware CD or web site (

http://www.caldera.com).

But, CD's only hold about 550MB (1 GB compressed) - far too small to back up most servers without having someone sit there and change CD's.

What kind/capacity tape drive are you using?
