cd tray won't stay closed

I am in the process of putting together a new system, combining new parts with old ones. I have a new motherboard, cpu HDD with a 6 month old cdrom/burner

My Problem

I have the system together win2000 installed no problems
except that the tray on the burner will not stay closed. The burner is setup as the slave to the DVD player and according to my OS the burner is installed correctly and the drivers are in place

any ideas???

What happens when you take out the DVD CD-ROM, and then hook up the CD-R burner as a single MASTER ??

Do you have CD- BURNING software installed ?

Also, if that doesn't work, what happens when you put the burner in a computer WITHOUT CD-R burning software, no Easy CD Creator, or Nero, etc.
What happens then ?


If you don't have another computer, try doing the above to isolate the problem. Remove burning software, etc.
