Ok, I have a 40x CD-Rom and a 8x4x32 CD-RW. My cdrom works fine, but my cdrw only reads certain cds. It will read my burned music cd, but not a store bought cd. And it will not read burned data cds. This is very strange and I hope someone here will be able to enlighten me. I am running WinXP on a Duron 800, with 256 ram and a 20 gig HD. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

CD-RW reads some cd's not others.

I have noticed on the Microsoft update site( start\help support) windows update that there is a patch to do with CD burners, I guess its worth a try. If your unsure....Dont do it!
