What OS do you have and what burning software are you using? Win XP has native support for CD burning but not for packet writing. For that you have to be using somethiong like Roxio Direct CD or Nero InCD. Help us to help you, please post back and tell us if this helped.

All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.

Hi mulga:

Isn't drag and drop employing packet writing?
I'm reading lots (boning up on practically no skills in burning CD's) and am reading native XP can do this.
(or is it getting too late and my concentration's less than ample?)

XP emulates packet writing by using drag and drop but it is not the real thing, for instance you cannot delete an individual file from a burned CD. Maybe someone who is more into it than I am can explain the technicalities.. Help us to help you, please post back and tell us if this helped.

My OS is 98 SE and the software is what came with my Sony CD-RW Drive BHA B,s Recorder Gold 5 /and B,Clip.
Thanks ,Smitty98

Smitty,
What software would that be? Is it Nero, Roxio, or proprietary software? If it's proprietary, you may be out of luck and forced to contact Sony for support...
