In CD-RW jargon,what is the difference in recording, re-writing, or burning a CD? What other equipment, besides CD-RW, would one use to do these things? Thanks.

CDr, CDrw, CDrom
CDr , burner, Same thing as writing, only its permenet, you cant write over it again(sometimes will let you keep adding it, but will only remain readable in the CDrw, until you "close" it to be readable to normal CDroms which sets it permenet)

CDrw, or CD rewriter, most CDrw can burn, and rewrite, a rewritable CD is good upto a thousand burns a sector, but usally more risk of loosing data off them, and sometimes not readable in anormal CDrom

CDrom, standard, reads all made CDs(or burned CDs)
if you just wana read CDs, then a CDrom is for you
if you wana make CDs readable by all Cdroms, get a Burner, or writer
if you wana be able to rewrite a local CD(not being distribited, and assuming you have use your CDrw all the time to read it), then a CDrw(rewriter) is for you, sometimes when you see 4x4x16, thats 4x write, 4x rewrite, 16X read

any more info needed?
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in , or have messed with : VC++, Borland C++ Builder, VJ++6(starting),VB-Dos, VB1 thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, Borland C++ 3(DOS), Borland C++ 4.5, HTML, ASP(somewhat), QBasic(least i didnt start with COBOL)
