I have a LG CD-RW drive on Windows 98. It works properly except that after a while it refuses to eject. The only way to get back the disk is to reboot the computer. Any suggestion?
Look to see if there is a tiny hole in the front of the drive. If so, you insert a paper-clip to release the gears that hold the door closed. Be sure it has stopped spinning.
I am using Roxio Easy CD Creator Basic v.5. Recently, I noticed that the options "Eject" and "Format", in the menu, are grayed. I reinstalled the software: no change.
It seems to me the drive still thinks it has something to write, it's as if some data is still being quewed to write or similar.
I had something like this on a customers, it would always happen when he used packet writing on a particular rewritable disk he'd had, got rid of the disk and so got rid of his problem.
Also I have known virus's produce this fault.
One option maybe to uninstall and reinstall your Roxio.
