CD/RW drive not accessible

When I insert a blank CD into my LiteOn CD/RW, 'My Computer' error message says: D:\is not accessible.
Incorrect function

CD/RW properties says for the blank disc: used space 0 bytes, free space 0 bytes, capacity 0 bytes. How can I access blank CDs? CDs with data or music can be accessed.

My OS is win2kpro.

With Win2K you require third party software. Win 2K is unable to burn directly to CD. Good CD burning software is Nero Burning ROM, however this is not free:

You could try CD BurnerXP pro:

This is free & does work fairly well.

You need a 3rd party app. Besides what would you want to access in a blank CD its blank.

I prefer Easy Media Creator Myself. I've had problems with Nero.

but any free CD burning app, should let you use the blank CD.
