CD-RW Drive / DVD-RW Drive.

I'm using XP pro with all the sp's. I have a dvd-rw and a external cd-rw. When I put a cd-rw disc in the cd-rw it works. If I put a cd-r in the cd-rw it says that its in accessible. Then it says "Name "G" (cd-rw) in target box is not valid. Make sure the path & file are correct". I go to "my computer" and that's what they have named for the drive.
They have worked before but not now. I'm going crazy can anyone help!!

Have you tried a different brand (and color) of CD-R?

You could uninstall all the CD Drives in Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows rediscover them.

Have a look at the manufacturers web site, maybe there is some information about your problem there, and perhaps there might be a firmware update for that particular drive?

Also, if you have Alcohol 120% installed, get rid of it. The virtual drive functionality of it can cause problems.

Then check the Upper and Lower Filters in the registry talked about here:
