hi everyone, i'm having a little problem and need your advice.

i have a CD-RW disc that was formatted so that i can "drag and drop files" into the CD using windowsXP. initially all was fine, but now, the CD-RW drive is unable to read the CD.

surprisingly, when i insert the CD to CD-ROM drive, the contents can be displayed. but when i insert the CD to another CD-RW drive of another computer (also using XP), that CD-RW drive is also unable to read the contents of the CD.

i am baffled. does the problem lies with the DRIVE or the DISC?

the CD was formatted using roxio easy cd creator 5's directCD format utility.

Easy CD Creator, Nero, etc. use their own formats for creating this type of disk. You need a little program that Roxio provides on the second XP machine. Unfortunately, I don't recall the name of the program. Perhaps it is mentioned in your documentation.

Either suggestion should work. If the other XP machine has DirectCD installed (same version), then it should have no problems reading the formatted CD. The problem is software!
