I just purchased a Game called WallStreet Tycoon.

Problem is that my Laptop does not have a CD-ROM Drive.

Through the network, I've copied the files to a directory called "c:\cd\"

Ran the setup program "c:\cd\setup.exe" and it installed fine.

PROBLEM IS: When I start the Game/Program it says the following message "Sorry, the Tycoon CD was not found. Please insert the CD into the computer and try again."

QUESTION IS: How can I MAP "c:\cd" to be my CD-ROM Drive Letter D: (or E: or whatever)

I phoned Focus Multimedia Limited on +44(0)1889 570156, the Support Department did not come up with anything ...

So does anyone have any suggestions... ???

Many Thanks In advance ...

That is a hack that will have to be done with the software designers...If you get a shoddy support person, never hesitate to call back later and hope you get a better one next time.

mmm. just a shot in the dark but here it goes.
i think it all depends on the OS

go to the computer where you installed it.
right click on the cdrom drive and click properties.
click on sharing and put in a share name. reboot.

go to your laptop and right click network neiborhood,
click "find computer" and enter the share name of the cdrom.

now if this works you may need to insert the wall street cd at the workstation.

have you considered using an external cdrom drive?
