CD-ROM problems

I am getting an Error-31 with my two CD-ROM drives in this workstation. It has been working fine for a while, but recently I have lost use of both drives. The drives are both on separate IDE channels so there is not a conflict there, and the motherboard drivers have recently been updated. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
