I have 4 cd rom drives that have been working fine for quite some time. I turn on the pc this morning and all 4 are not seen in my computer and when I look at device manager they all have yellow exclamations. What happened overnight? I am running XP Pro. any clues please advise? Should I do a system restore?

Sounds like the channel controller hiccupped at some point. What does the mangler show for IDE devices. And it might help if you would run one of the enumeration programs to find what you have. (belarc, aida, or sandra)
Sometimes it is a matter of reloading the IDE chip drivers.

RedRog,
Did you manage to sort out the problem? I have a similar problem only that my PC has 2 drives. From the device manager, the CD Writer shows its working properly, while the CD ROM drive has the yellow exclammation marks.
I am running Win 2000 Professional. I have opened the CPU & tried to adjust the IDE cables, but doesnt seem to work.
Please help!!
