Hi.
The CD Rom drive on my computer has decided to not work. It is an E-IDE CD 956E/AKV. The cd

rom drive is not old and I have tested it with brand new cds to ensure the problem is not

the cds themselves.

The cd rom drive was working a couple of weeks ago and for some reason now it just keeps

telling me to put in a cd even though there is already one in there.

Can anyone please give me some pointers as to what I should try next.

Thank you for any help.
Sharon.

Buy a CDROM drive cleaning kit, and/or try using a can of compressed air spraying into the drive while it's opened.

If there are still problems, try the CDROM in another PC to see if it's the drive or the PC. If that's not an option, you might as well buy a replacement (new ones are as cheap as $30, if not cheaper).
