How do I get both my CD-ROM and CD-RW to play sound through the on-MOBO sound chip? I ran the lead from the CD-RW (master drive) to the CD-IN pins on the MOBO...but where (or do i have to) plug the CD-ROM sound lead? I do not have a sound card on this PC.

most MOBO have an AUX ... use that

It would be better to simply enable digital play back

Most motherboards have two audio imputs but usually they are two differant types of socket.
Some audio fly leads have an EXTRA lead, this differant plug is attached at one end (piggybacked onto the standard plug) to accomadate both socket types.
These are fairly common and most suppliers should have them. Martin Replying helps further our knowledge, without comment leaves us wondering.

Yeah have to agree with legend2b4, just go to the cdrom which has no audio in your device manager and enable digital audio playback!

If you can't find 2 inputs on the mobo, and digital audio playback doesn't work around the problem, an audio Y-cable might be what you're looking for:
