I use an IBM 300 PL which has a LG CD-ROM drive in it. I connect to a NetWare networ and several NT accounts simultaneously. For some reason, whenever I log in, the PC fails to either:

1. Recognise my CD-ROM drive but will lock out my network drives (NT), or;
2. Fail to recognise my CD-ROM drive and log into the NT accounts; or,
3. Be fine

I have scratched my head several times wondering why this is happening. Any help would be grateful.

Thanks

Those things are he hardest to troubleshoot.
but here are a couple of maybes....
I don't have 2000 in front of me I 'm on NT4 but.

Look in the "Administratie Tools" "Event viewer" it may tell which device is hanging.

before you do anything make sure you have latest drivers for NIC and or CD-ROM
Is the CD-ROM "ATAPI compliant" (plugs into an IDE slot on the motherboard).
Looks like you might have an IRQ conflict between the NIC and the CD-ROM.
Go into "Administrative tools" and click "Resources" TAB this will show what IRQ each device is using.

also when your machine is booting go into CMOS and see what IRQ's are set to.

It may be as simple as moving the NIC to another slot.
Keep in mind if you do that the NIC drivers will have to be re-loaded.
