CD Repair util?

I live in Hong Kong, where it is hot and humid is summer, and dry and windy in winter. Some of my old CDs do not work any more.

Is there any utilities, which can attepmt to read all or parts of files still on the CD. What I am looking for are programs like the HD programs which tries to recover as many of the files as possible.

Any suggestions. Freeware best appreciated.

Have you tried properly cleaning the CDs, they are pretty robust and will take a fairly vigorous cleaning, use warm water and detergent if necessary.

I may be wrong but i heard that adaptec 5 platinum has some form of data recovery
