I have a problem. An application program upgrade modified a set of databases and took the associated files from 500mb to 550mb, wiping out the backup capabilities using 525mb tape drives.
I would like to start backing up to CD-R or CD-RW using EDGEv2.0 but there is no migration path that I can see.

Does anybody have CD-R or CD-RW capability up and running, and if so, how did you make it work?

Systems are Pent 133 to 166, 5.0.5 with all patches, boot and backup on adaptec 2940U/U, data on separate 2940U/U.

I've seen the stuff on Tony's site, and some other brief comments from J.P.Radley but nothing that would indicate that a program could write or recover directly or easily.
Thanks for any info.

I use cdrecord.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Annihilannic,
Am resisting the compression due to some previous problems with compression. But a separate issue is the lack of availability of 525mb tape drives. The supply seems to have disappeared.

PHV,
I pulled the cdrecord files, version 1.9 off the skunkware site, and after many hours of figuring out how it works, it seems to do what is needed. But getting current syntax was worse than figuring out the tax code. Somewhere I saw that the instruction set had been changed between versions.
