I've read countless fixes for cd audio problems,
but none seem to work. I switched CD ROM's to a Phillips
CDRW/800, using Adaptec 4 Easy CD Creator and Direct CD, and can no longer play regular audio CD's. I can
create them, but not play them! I.e., the audio CD's I create work on other PC's, but not mine. No sound, not a peep. I have several media players (Media Player, Winamp, etc.), and none of them work. Apps and game CD's work fine, including sound.

I'm still on Win 95.

Any ideas?

When you installed the cd drive did you hook up the wires from the sound card to the cd drive? I dont have my case open but it is either a three or four small wires and a small connector that has to go from one to the other.

I believe the sound cable is plugged in, but will double-check that--maybe, it's backwards.

Thanks
