CD One Version 3 on Solaris 8?

I have a Sun Ultra 2 and CiscoWorks2000 CD One Version 3. Will CW2K run on Solaris 8? I was told by a Cisco TAC agent that it will not, that version 4 is "unofficially" supported on Sol 8, and version 5 is supported on Sol 8. Has anyone been able to get version 3 to work on Sol 8? If not, what is the cost of upgrading CW2K to version 5?

Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.
