Hello Again,

I have run into a great problem that has really got me annoyed. Using SCO 5.0.5 i utilize BackupEdge software and created a "cdrom.iso" file.

I FTP'd the file to my Win XP computer and I can't for the life of me properly burn the ISO. Using free, and paid for ISO burners I created a countless number of disks that have the image burned on to them but they don't boot.

I have a feeling that this ISO file requires special Unix settings that need to be selected in order to properly boot.

I have attached the cdrom.iso and am hoping someone can help me out.

I have used the following iso software: active@isoburner, free iso burner, nero Burning Rom, and magicIso

Using magic ISO ive tried countless combinations of settings. I know for sure that the filesystem has to be Rock Ridge but I don't know how any of the other settings fit in.

Thanks

Have you compared the checksums of the generated cdrom.iso file and the one you have on your WinXP computer? (if you don't have a checksum tool on the Windows side, one option is to zip both files up and check the CRC-32 in the zip file).

Resolved :)

It turns out using the "get" ftp command corrupted my .iso file. Using the put command from the server onto my computer the file was not corrupt and burning the iso was possible.

Thanks

You may not have switched to binary mode before transferring the file? It could be that binary is the default for the FTP server on your computer, but not on the other one.
