Hi,

I have a problem configuring my cd in Wn95
When I go to system/devices the CD is there and says that it works perfectly, but when I want to view the content of it in the Windows Explorer I get a error that says "The CD is not ready Retry Cancel"

how can I make this work out?
thanks!

If it is an old CD-ROM you may want to try cleaning it. The "eye" inside the CD-ROM could be blocked with dirt. You can get some compressed air and clean it out.

You also may want to try hooking up another CD-ROM to it. If the new one works then you probably have a faulty CD-ROM.

Hope this helps and Good Luck! :)

Pinkman is absolutely right, first try cleaning the unit with a can of compressed air, or lens cleaner CD. My only caution about the canned air is that if the unit is really dusty inside you may just create a mini dust storm inside and dust will settle on the laser lens for sure, and then it wont work. Also try a CD that is in perfect condition, not even a hint of a scratch or dirt.

Is that the only reason why the CD is not available?
