Im stuck!! I can not move forward or backwards, and i am in the middle of the installation of windows xp, Internal cd drive won't work anymore, so installation will not finnish. (it's at step 4 installation of windows xp) Cannot find a internal cd drive to match so I can replace the dead one (it is a mini computer and the cd drive is only about 1/2 inch thick, so i tried a USB external cd drive. but i can not load the drivers, while the computer is in this state of limbo.
how do i get the computer to go back to ground zero again???
I can load the necessary drivers if i can go back to the beginning!!!
I feel so frustrated, ive tried everything i can think of and what anyone else could think of!!

Please let there be a way!!
can someone help me please!!

Just re-start the computer and it will start from scratch again..all the previously loaded files will be wiped when you format as part of the new install.
Just make sure the new CDrom device is set to boot first in the the bios.

If the internal CD-ROM is actually dead, then starting over with what you've got it out of the question. You'll need a new internal drive OR an external USB drive.

You just need to enable booting from USB in the BIOS. Set it as the first boot device. Newer computers will have that option but older computers may not.

If yours doesn't, you'll have to make a floppy boot disk that has USB drivers. Then boot from the floppy and load the OS from the USB CD drive.

Your easiest option is to replace the internal drive. What is the exact brand/model?? EBAY is your friend.
