Hello everyone,

On my Windows 98 I deleted something from "program files" folder that is in the c drive. Since then I don't see an icon for this drive in "my computer", and I cannot open the drive or use it. It looks like the CPU doesn't know the CD drive exists. What to do?

Thanks for any help, Ilan.

Did you try Add/Remove Hardware in the Control Panel? Glenn A

Have you tried to reinstall windows. you can do this by puting the win98 cd in to the drive, then in the floppy drive a boot disk. this will load all the drivers needed to install windows. once the options list appears select "start computer with cdrom support" then at the prompt type "setup.exe" this will then take you through the windows setup. this will install all the needed file and re-new any curupted files that will install all the files that you deleted.

hope this helped you, Adam
