Im building a mp3 player for my car and i want to run the cable from my comuter to my cd drive externally so my question is there some kind of thicker cable that i could purchase maybe better insalation and are there cables that would say go 4 feet aproximently or a way to attach smaller ones. i have already thought about getting a external drive but i dont want to spend the funds for it.

Any 22/2 with shield audio cable will work. You could just use a long RCA to RCA patch cable, cut off the ends and solder to the CD and soundcard connectors. The important thing is the shield.

What sort of computer and CD drive are you planning on using?

well i have thought about putting a dvd drive in it but if not it will be a 52x not sure what brand thou becuse im getting alot of the parts i need for free.
