Hi
I have this CD which has data on it but it when I open it on Windows XP nothing shows up as if it is a blank cd and when I view its properties it shows that free space 0 and the used space 0 !!! The person who gave me the CD said I need Windows Vista to see what on the cd? I haven't used Windows Vista yet , so I don't know if this is might be the problem !
Any idea?

It will just be an optical drive compatibility issue - not an operating system problem. Another CD/DVD drive in your machine or another machine (any o/s) may be able to read the disk. Of course, the disk may actually not be readable (damaged).

Where was it produced/what's on it/can you get another copy produced from original data? (if it can't be read elsewhere).

The issue is almost certainly due to the fact that the CD was burned using Vista's UDF (also known as Live File System) 2.5 format, and XP natively only supports up to UDF 2.01 (although there are 3rd party UDF 2.5 drivers around)

I used Nero to copy the data the images size was 102M but when writing it back on another cd it gives the same problem

well I used IsoBuster and it showed me the files but when I try to Extract these files nothing happens
I tried another cd driver same thing ?
