My son clicked on the enable dma check box under the settings tab in the Win/98 device manager. Win/98 told him he'd have to re-boot for the changes to take effect. When he did, Windows ka-poofed the burner from its list of devices.
I've tried 'add new hardware'. No luck. Windows does not detect a new plug and pray device. I've tried unplugging all the cables to the burner; re-booting; shutdown; plugging the cables back in; and re-booting, hoping that windows would detect a new device. No luck, and no luck again 'adding new hardware'.
I don't know what to try next. Any thoughts, anybopdy ?
