CD autostart not working

The CD/DVD autostart is not working. Any guess why this would happened? When I double click on the My Computer, the CD/DVD drive does not even show the application's icon. Help is appreciated.

Have any drives been hidden via TweakUI or similar?

What CD writing software do you have installed besides the inbuilt XP software?

Are there any clues in the Event Viewer?
