cd aix53tl03 want to create from this cd a new lpp source and spot nim

Hi,

I have a CD contains the base level of AIX53 with TL5.
What I want is to copy this to my current NIM server who is already on AIX 53TL6 and have lppsource5306/spot5306 existing.

I need to create a new lppsource5303/spot03 because some aix servers have to be installed to this level because of their application.

The question is: I have 8 CD, wich one I have to copy to the nim server to build the spot and lppresource ? CD1 and CD2 ?

forget to ask what I need to copy.
I have the following folders and files at the root of the CD1:
folder 53000-04 (empty folder)
folder installp (contain folder ppc and mvCD)
folder ppc (contain folder chrp)
folder root (contain folder etc)
folder RPMS (contain folder linux and ppc)
folder usr (contain folder bin, ccs,lib,lpp,sbin,swlag,sys)
file bosinst.data
file image.data
file OSLEVEL

sorry it is folder 5300-03

Try:

smitty bffcreate

you can create an image of your CDs using this and then create your lppsource and spot from there!

Hi Khalidaa

I know that I want to use bffcreate but I can;t put the CD on the cd drive because the data center is really far away so I wanted to copy the contents of the cd on the aix box (nim server) and then use bffcreate but I don;t know what I have to copy...
Any idea?
