Like many of you I am an old nortel guy who is gonna have to go Cisco weather he likes it or not. I was just looking at the cisco certs and saw the CCT. while utimately I would like to get the CCNA voice, do you you think it would be worth persuing the cct first. The majority of what I do Is go to locations and troubleshoot existing hardware anyway and as the company I work for goes to cisco it looks like they are going to keep the Voice programing and configurition in our network group and maybe freeze out the nortel guys (they have already moved us to desktop and have us trouble shooting pc's and printers when not working on the phone systems P.S. corporate politics suck when your on the losing side lol ) anyway so being better equipt to trouble shoot fom the field might add more value when the cut over to cisco begins.

any thoughts or tips. Does the cct have enough cross over material that it would help when persuing the CCNA?

CCT is geared more for the technician in the field who needs to get basic stuff done without having to understand all the underlying theory. It is good for those who just need to "get it working" without having to explain "how it works".

CCT provides great foundation for those who want to pursue CCNA down the road. Nearly everything in CCT maps directly to CCNA study. Plus, it may get you off the help desk! Go for it!
