Hi there. I have a system (LX) which fails to put calls through, it just comes back with invalid. I can't really read CCS traces, I was wondering if someone could provide an answer as to why the call fails? (I've removed the telephone number, don't mind the x's)

19:57:29 RO16 DPN 1E ISRM_I ;10;*1#*50*205#*100*PABX ROOM*1#
19:57:29 RO16 DPN 2D SSRM_C *58*CW*ddD@@@@@CyJRhP#*58*C6*001#077xxxxxxxx
19:57:29 RI16 DPN 7 NIM *51*3#
19:57:31 RI16 DPN 11 CRM/CIM ;0;*166*4#*234*@P#

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you do a CCS trace where a call goes thru and then call that is invalid.

Are all phones having this issue or just one phone?
Could be the COR for the set or the trunking will not allow outbound calls...

Please explain the calling process -> pick up hand set, dialed: long distance/overseas/locally -> all digits received 1 second later call is: connected/not allowed/fast busy tone heard on set

The more information you give the easier it is for us to help you.

This may help...here is an example of a trace with comments out beside each section.

This example involves a call made from extension 503400 to extension 513000 across a DPNSS Link. Extension 513000 cleared the call down.

Calling Party Trace (Extension 503400)
RO200 DPN 28 ISRM_C;10;*1*1#*50*503400#*100*T.Sandham#513000
RI200 DPN 21 NAM *1*1#*50*513000#*100*G.Williams
RI200 DPN 1 CCM
Called Party Trace (Extension 513000)
RI200 DPN 28 ISRM_C;10;*1*1#50*503400#*100*T.Sandham#513000
RO200 DPN 21 NAM *1*1#*50*513000#*100*G.Williams
RO200 DPN 2 CRM/CIM ;30;
RI200 DPN 2 CRM/CIM ;30;
Deciphering the TRACE
RO- Real Channel Out
RI- Real Channel IN
200 – Trunk Number (in this example, trunk 200)
DPN – DPNSS (Message is from a DPNSS or DASS II trunk)
200 – Message Length (in hexadecimal)
ISRM – Initial service Request Message
ISRM_C Initial service Request Message Complete
;10 – service Indicator Code (indicates speech)
*1*1# - Called line service category (ordinary extension) plus a service number (*1) indication PSTN access barred
*50*503400# - Originating Line identity and directory number
*100*T.Sandham# - text display, then text
NAM – Number Acknowledge Message
CCM – Call Connected Message
CRM/CIM – Clear Request Message/ clear indication message
;30; - Clear code indicating normal clear down

The number that you are trying to get the other side to accept is 077xxxxxxxx, I do not believe that this is correct. Please check your settings.

DoubleUT, a 11 digit number starting 07 would be a UK mobile number.

Hi, sorry for the long wait.. have been working out of the country and sorry for the lack of info on my first post!

It's been resolved now, seems I had the digit mod wrong! Woops..

Many thanks for all your replies and the CCS example trace!

What was the problem so that other can learn from it?

@bobcheese, I was referring to the eight x symbols. That can't be a part of the number, not even in the UK.

@DoubleUT - I too was originally confused by the x's but came to the conclusion that the text was modified by the poster to hide the actual number. It might have been better to put in nonsense digits or at least state that the text had been modified but, as you know, we never get the whole story.

Helps if you can read then, myself included. At least I assumed correctly.
