I have a client that has a hotel. He has a separate building with 9 units. He would like people to be able to call each unit separately (press #1 for unit A etc.)
Is there any way to do this other than with a phone system and auto attendant? There is no administration or reception in the building, just 9 hotel rooms.
 
Tin cans and lots of string? Sorry, I couldn't resist. A phone system with remote IP phones if the infrastructure is there.
 
I heard some are replacing the old Mitels in the Niagara region motels with a Panasonic solution.

So they want phone system features but no phone system?

You might consider a cloud based SIP solution if you don't want an on-prem phone system. I'm sure there are many that will fit the need. It might be less of an upfront cost to implement but over time those savings will get eaten up. Remember you will still need the proper infrastructure to support such (good cabling, switching, routing, etc).
 
NEC has a good inexpensive solution in the SL2100. IP phone ready, licenses required for SIP trunks.
 
Yeastar has a solution for hotels of any size. They even have a built-in PMS that comes with it. Very cool system and inexpensive.
 
Thank you. I will check all these out. I think the best option might be a phone system with auto attendant but no mail box storage. The reason I said "with out a phone system" is because this will only be operated by those staying overnight. There is no receptionist or employees on site. All they really need is
1. A way to call reception or the pizza shop

2. A way to be reached for wake up call or their friends with out going thru reception


Each room has Cat5e and tel wire back to an electrical room.
