Running:
Microsoft Silverlight 4.0.60831.0
CCR 7.0.3.3

Under CCR->Dashboard, attempt to run Alarm cubes or Statistics cubes, fails regardless of which of the three dashboard displays, with:
Unable to update the 3D cube image. Please report this error to your IPOCCR System Administrator.

All the other charts, tables, pies & plots are okay.

Tried two different usernames. Tried using the as well as on the CCR server itself.

Tried Internet Explorer 8 and Google Chrome, same problem.

Pop up blocker turned off.
added to local trusted domain, where xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP address of the CCR server.

Tried similar versions of Silverlight and CCR in labs, and I don't have the problem.

Any suggestions please?

I could be wrong, but i think you need java installed too?

Java is enabled, and script enabled. I even tried the same version in labs that customer is running, and I still don't have a problem in the labs.

Any further ideas please?

It is a known issue reported on 7.0 GA
This is how to solve it:

Description of Issue
122441
3D cube image will not update
122441 – 3D cube image will not update: An error is seen in the windows event log that indicates the problem is on the server. Other stats on the dashboard work without issue. If you experience this issue then you need to run a repair on the MS .NET 3.5 framework installation. This can be done either by the Prerequisite executable or through the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs. It is believed to be caused by an installation update to the .NET framework on some PCs.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks tlpeter, I found this yesterday in the tech bulletin and failed to update tek-tips. Apologies, still it might prove useful for someone else.

resolved by repair of .Net framework. note: it was necessary to run the repair on CCR server, not just a client pc.

the Net framework repair also fixed an issue where you could not control agents usin ccr with one-x portal enabled. After the repair you could control agents in CCR.
