When I took the ICND course my instructor told me that taking the exam right after the course is a good idea so that the lessons are still fresh in my mind. So that's what I did: a weekend plus 2 days after the ICND class, I decided to take the CCNA exam. (I spent that weekend and 2 days studying!!!!) Lo and behold I passed the exam with flying colors.

My question is: do you think this same tactic will work for the CCNP Routing exam.

I'd say that the technique is a good one, but for the routing exam, you may find that two days over the weekend is not going to be enough. You really need to know a lot about each routing protocol, the default timeout values, and the type of environment that each protocol operates.

I took the Routing, Switching, Remote Access, and Support exams in that order. This worked for me. Support required knowledge of the first three tests. Good Luck!

thanks... i'll budget in 2 weeks of preparation right after the exam. will target 1.5 hours per day of study... wish me luck then! :)
