I got my (version 1 it was called) CCNP almost 3 years ago. Now I have to pass the recertification exam before 6/1 or start all over again.

Has anyone some words of wisdom about the recert test?

I'm just a little overwhelmed at the magenitude of material on one exam.

I am facing the same situation. Any advice would be appreciated...

Last week, I took the re-certification exam to get a feel for it. I had been studying and knew most of the material but I knew I was not ready to fully pass it. I was just taking it to see what areas in which I was weak. It was a 2 hour exam with 112 questions. On a score of 300 to 1000 I needed a 732 to pass. During the test, I was surprised that it did not seem to be that hard of a test. To my amazement, I scored a 692. I realized that all I needed to do was improve my score 40 points. I felt much encouraged.

So I studied over the weekend and took the test again Wednesday. I really wanted to pass it.

Wednesday's test seemed much harder. Even though I had studied more of the material, it seemed that I was guessing more than the last time [SWAG = Scientific Wild Ass Guess]. Many, many times I had to SWAG an answer. Again it was 112 questions over 2 hours. Again I needed a 732 to pass.

When I finished the score came up on the computer - 733! I had passed a margin of one point!

I give God all the credit.

It had to been He that helped my SWAGs. He gave me just enough to pass but only that amount. I thank Him for His faithfulness.

Now I won't have to worry about this test again for another 3 years. I am so grateful for His help.

Join me in thanking God for helping me pass.
