It doesn't really matter
The switching exam covers some routing topics and vice versa so you will have to know a bit about both to do either.
I personally did switching first as the routing is very indepth, and the knowledge you get from the switching benefits the routing - if you understand what I mean?

I picked Switching first, only because I needed to know the details right away on a new job 
Dan is quite correct, the switching knowledge will pass over nicely to the routing and make that a bit easier.
