Does anyone know about changes to the CCNP track. It was pointed out to me that the BSCI exam is no longer listed on the Cisco CCNP webpage:

It still lists the composite BCMSM/BSCI... but not the BSCI on it's own...

Any ideas?

Peter.

Pete---look carefully---you have two choices---both list the composite, but the bottom lists BSCI as recommended training (not the top). That is m9isleading, but the exam still exists. The bottom should list both BCMSN and BSCI, but it's a mistake.

Well..one person on the CLN thinks it's official:

Here's another posting about it as well:

And amazingly, it is on the retired exam list:

I'm more than a little shocked that Cisco would remove the routing exam from the Routing and Switching professional cert. At least not without a little more hype.

Just saw this...been following it because I was in too much shock:
Please be informed that the 642-901 BSCI exam is currently an active exam and is still included in the CCNP, CCDP, and CCIP curriculum. Webpages stating that the 642-901 BSCI is retired or not included in the CCNP, CCDP, and CCIP curriculum will be edited for correction.

We apologize for the confusion.

Anyone else think they may have been hacked?

lerdalt,

You said "Anyone else think they may have been hacked?" that is one network I would NOT want the responsibility to protect - must be the ultimate challange for a hacker!!! Those guys at Cisco EARN every dime they are paid!!!

That would be the best hack, something not too showy that would go unnoticed for a little bit of time and cause a stir when it did :)

Good point, Gene. Cisco as to rank up there with the Whitehouse, NSA, FBI and U.S. military websites. And the more subtle, the better.

I wonder if that could have been an inside job. Cisco has some pretty massive barriers against external entry, maybe even an internal misunderstanding of program information.

Bill,

Left hand does not know what the right hand is doing or ..... did the left hand jump the gun on something ??????

We need Molder and Scully on this :)

Having gone to 5 Cisco Networkers conventions (Now Cisco Live) and having talked to my share of Cisco employee's "off the record" I would tend to believe that someone just screwed up and got some updates wrong or in the wrong place.

It happens all the time!! But it is more fun to think more into it ........

It a screw up---if you're that good to hack PHP web pages like on Cisco, why would you do something like exclude a test from an exam? I'd do all KINDS of phun stuph...

Burt

Yeah, but why not pick on the BSCI to remove? Only thing better would have been the CCIE Labs.

I'm sure it was just a mistake on someone's part. But pretty wild the conversations it started over at CLN.

shhh.. They are listening!
