I am planning on take the ICND 1 and ICND 2 training classes. It is my understanding that after the ICND 1 training, I can take the exam to be CCENT certified, and after the ICND 2 training, I can take the ICND2 exam, and I will then be CCNA certified. Is this correct? I am looking at classes at Global Knowledge, does anyone have any experiance with them? Good/Bad??
Thanks,
Matt

Mattgtech, yup that's about right that path is correct. ICND 1 = CCENT pass it and take ICND 2 = CCNA....I haven't used that site Global Knowledge much. But a good Ciscopress book is the way to go. I'm waiting for the book to be available at the end of the month.

Peace

For any training, ask the question: Is the lab gear in the classroom or at some remote site? If it is at a remote site, you lose lots of "experience" setting up cables, troubleshooting, and being able to just plain identify a router and a switch. Also, ask the question: What is the equipment to student ratio? If it is anything less than one router and one switch for each student (no sharing) consider going elsewhere...especially for the $$$$ involved.

My 2 cents.

Do you have any suggestions on which Cisco training partners are best?

Depending where you live, check local schools that provides that training. I took it at Syracuse University CBIT Center. Lot's of hands on experience.

Google to a near by provider and get prices but remember they are not cheap.

There are many community colleges that have Cisco Academy classes, and they are VERY reasonable. I think the CCNA 1-4 that I took a few years ago were about $1400 for all 4 semesters.

If Global Knowledge is the site I'm thinking of, I used them for my CCNP. We got a deal through work to access the courses online. Excellent resource. I had my reservations about it since I had never taken an online class like that before, but it was great.
