A while back I was CCNP certified, but have been concentrating on Security for the last 6 or so years, so let the CCNP lapse. I am now thinking it would be useful to get the CCSP (or parts of it, at least), but on checking the Cisco site, it appears I have to do the CCNA, then the CCNA Security before starting on the CCSP exams.

Can anyone confirm whether this is (or isn't) the case? Can I not just do the CCNA Security, without doing the CCNA?

I am afraid not. You must complete the CCNA R&S then the CCNA Security (which took the place of the SNRS exam. Then you can tackle the rest of the SP track! Sorry! There are a few Vue testing center promotions for 2009 that will let you retake the CCNA if you miss it and another that will let you retake the CCNA Security if you miss that one! I may have to use it if tomorrow goes badly! LoL

comeback and specialize are the promotions!
