Hi all,

I would like some advice concering my situation.

I am a CCNA since 3 years (almost) and since then I took the BCMSN 1.1 course (never did the exam on that). I have no excuse for not doing the exam and not going on for ccnp. Since I feel stupid about this all and I am trying to make it all right again I could use some advice.

I read the Cisco site and I found that 7th of september is the last day to register for the BCMSN 1.1 exam. Since in october my CCNA expires I wonder if my BCMSN exam stays valid after that (if I pass the exam). This way I do not have to follow the BCMSN 2.0 course again.

Further I would like to know if the newest CCNA certification differs much from the one I already have. And if I should buy me some new books (or borrow them) and buy some new exam questions from Boson.

thanks for your time....

InD.

CCNA

Cisco just recently changed the re-certification requirements for CCNA and CCDA. I don't have a link to the official statement, but the way it works now, any passing score on a test for the CCNP or CCDP track will renew your CCNA/CCDA certs. Example, If my CCNA was set to expire next month and I passed the BSCN test, My CCNA would continue to be valid without retaking the CCNA test. To boil it down, any test for the next level will reset the timer on the current certs you hold

hAkron,

thanks for the answer.

I will go for 642-821 BCRAN to reset the timer on my CCNA certification and make sure I also register for the BCMSN 1.1 exam before 7th of september.

OR

Since I do not have much time anymore I wonder wich exam would be the "easiest" to certify for.
642-801 BSCI
642-821 BCRAN or
642-831 CIT ?

DO not get me wrong I am not trying to get it easy. I just want to save my CCNA cert.

damn I am gonna be busy... ;-)
