Hey everyone,

I've posted before, I'm working on my CCNA nad want to go at least through my CCNP, and probably CCIE. Right now I have 2 CiscoPro 2501 and 2 CiscoPro 2514 routers, and I was wondering what a recommened lab setup would be to go through CCIE. Let me know... Thanks for your help.

hi make sure you have atleast a router with 3 or more serial interfaces so you can do frame relay simulation.
my lab at home:
1 2501= 2 S, 1E
1 2502= 2 S, 1 Token Ring
1 2516= 2 S, 1 ISDN, built in 16 port hub
1 2520= 4 S, 1 10bt port, 1 E AUI, 1 ISDN
1 1601= 1 S, 1 E
1 1602= 1 56k DSU/CSU
1 Merge 2000AFP ISDN Simulator. (supports both S/T and U)
1 1924 Catalyst Switch
1 nice 19" rack
All my routers have 16mb flash and dramm and the latest boot rom (fw1 and fw2) you need the latest boot rom to load newer ios. currently all my routers are running c2500-jk8os-l.122-1, which has IP/ENT/FW/IPSec56.
both my 1600 routers are running ios from 1605. which means the ios gets loaded in ram after they boot up. i can run BGP, OSPF and the rest of the routing protocols on my 1600!!
I have not ran across a lab in Sem 1-6 in CCNA and CCNP that i was not able to do. Sem 7 and 8 are next and then CCIE.
good luck. will be happy to ansers any questions you might have.

Mine is a bit different. I went with a 4500, quad serial card, 6 port ethernet card and a dual TR card for the core router.

You can see the entire diagram at
I need to update the drawing to relect the POTs connection for the remote access labs.
